Two Amber/Orange Lights Over Currie Edinburgh Scotland

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi, sorry for reporting this so late, but I had no idea I could report this to anyone but the police. We were driving along Lanark Rd west between 5:00 - 6:00pm on Christmas day 2008, when we saw two amber/orange lights high in the sky to our left come over the Pentland Hills. We pulled over and watched the lights for some ten minutes. They were heading in the direction of Edinburgh airport. Then suddenly they turned away from us and eventually disappeared. I reported my sighting to the police the next day, and the officer was very helpful, he checked with ATC and said there was nothing logged for that time and location. I personally feel they were some sort of rocket as they appeared to have a brighter glow at the end. Strange that no one knows anything about it though. Thanks.
