Burning Orange Red Ball Makes Strange Maneuver

Full Description of Event/Sighting: A friend and I were sitting outside having a fire. It was a clear night full of stars. I just so happened to look up at the right moment and this burning orange/red ball was flying overhead. I told my buddy to look and check it out, he was already looking. We just kept asking ourselves what was that? It flew across the sky to the northeast. Then from what it looked like, it took a sharp upward movement and vanished. I figured it was a meteor, but it didn't burn up. About a half hour to an hour later. We noticed a very bright white ball above us. It was moving for about 2 minutes, then just faded out.
