Bright Orange Lights Over North East Wales

Date: January 2010
Time: Evening.

Hi, I just saw your message and would just like to say that earlier this year, January 2010 probably. We were leaving our local (the old Hotpoint club in Lll Jct) when I saw an orange light passing overhead. My wife also saw this, so I popped my head back into the club and mentioned it to the two lads that were still there. They came out and witnessed it, it passed overhead at quite a rate of knots, west to east roughly. we speculated on what it was and Chinese lanterns were mentioned, but it was so high and so fast that I wasn't to sure.

Anyway, we went on our way and 2-3 minutes later, my wife and I saw another one on the same path at the same height and at the same speed, not a sound. So I still think they were Chinese Lanterns as there was no mention of any sightings or anything on the net or the news or the papers, but that's what we saw, bright orange light traveling at quite a speed. I have not seen Chinese lanterns, but I would have thought they would flicker or something at that speed. Anyway, that's what we saw, seen one once since then, coming from roughly the same area. So whether there is somebody out there who likes to release Chinese lanterns on a Saturday night. All the best.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
