Bright Light Over Inverurie Aberdeenshire Scotland

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Light fading approx: 20:45 11th April 2010, I looked up and saw slow moving object of light, at first looked like a searchlight. Then I suppose a fireball. At first I thought it was an aircraft/helicopter due flight path into Abz. Coming from southerly to northerly direction, and looked about right in size and scale of the light for aircraft used on that flight path.

At Inverurie, aircraft veer off east heading into Abz airport decent, but this light carried on it's course northbound. It was the silence that caught me first, as was expecting aircraft/helicopter noise of some sort. I became alarmed when it was directly above me and saw, at one point, what looked like embers or a flame trail behind as it passed. My immediate thought was a sizable aircraft, like a B747 at high altitude, was on fire. It seemed to move slower directly above me, but then seemed to quicken up and seemed closer as it passed overhead and northwards. I presume this would be due to passing me by at a certain angle/distance. I have looked in the local news and online, but cannot see any similar sightings or reports. Surely somebody must have seen this?
